There are NO prairie dogs in western Nebraska. Trust me. I live there......and feed the tame prairie dogs.

:D

Hotshot called it right.

There are LOTS of critters to thin out. Private land is the best....IF it has not been hunted on.

No season that I am aware of.....but.....consult the Nebraska Parks/Game/etc website.

Acloco , Man you had me going there !!! Thought maybe you shot them all !!!! After hearing all you guys over heating bbl's I thought it would be neat to see what its like having that many targets to shoot at , not sure if I will ever make it out just thought I would ask about NE after I ran into this guy from that area . Don't worry, the last thing I would want to do is intrude on any of your hunting areas , sent you a PM , Bruce

Bruce,
LOL! I thought you would see right through me. Hotshot did!!!

LOTS of farmers and ranchers are poisoning. It is hard to get on private land. Kind of a different click here (I am from Montana). Who knows.

I do believe the prairie dogs are better south of I80 and further West of North Platte.

North to South Dakota and the northwest area of Nebraska has been hit by plague the last couple of years in SOME areas. Check before you go.

I would HIGHLY recommend calling the county extension agents in several counties - talk to them, I BET they will help you out with names and phone numbers of farmers/ranchers that need some thinning of the prairie poodle herd.
