Trail Camera

Post by TD-Max »

Looking at trying out a trail camera. Something versatile and quality. Use would be on our private land so theft should not be an issue. I'm willing to spend several hundred dollars if the quality is there. Any suggestions?

I've just started looking. The Camtrakkers are interesting.

I have zero experience with trail cams but the best pics I've seen always seem to come from the Cuddebacks. HTH

it all depends but if you have enough property like 20 acers + i would buy like 3 different trail cameras that all work good but not great and place them all over your property where the main areas are or what you are looking for. because i have a trail camera it is a off brand but i like it..it sells for around 50 or 60 $$ but im not lookin for nothin in particular just for deer but i try to place them on a trail so the deer is walking tward the camera insted of broadside because you normally miss them if they are going broadside unless you are buying a nice cuddyback but personally i would go with 3 or 4 and place them in different areas so you can see where they are traveling and what night.

just my thoughts and what i do.

I ran into problems with mine when using a card that was different from what the manufacturer suggested. My camera took some pictures, but didn't function properly and I lost pictures. Now I only use what's called for and don't have any problems.

If you have bears in the area, I would get a protective cover for it. I know a guy that has pictures of a bear destroying his camera.
