What kind of results are people having with the 204 on coyotes at 300 yds. The reason I am asking is I am having a difficult time choosing between a 22-250 and 204. I want a dropem dead 300 yd. varmint rifle. I am leaning toward the 22-250 because I have heard of some not so good results on coyote with the 204.

The only problems I have heard is shooters looking for a fur friendly bullet.
A 39 grain Sierra BlitzKing will carry a tad over 500 fpe out to 300 yards. If you hit a coyote with a 500 pound hammer it's going down.

For regular 300 yard shots I would go with the 250 for the heavier bullets in more adverse conditions throughout the year. If it's the occasional 300yd shots I would opt for the 204 & not look back.

For really getting out there, I use my .308 loaded with 125 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips at 3130 fps.
It ballistically matches my Nikon BDC reticle.
600 yards
1923 fps
-70.65 Impact
91.09" Drop
0.74 Time of Flight
1026 Ft Lbs Energy
27.82" Drift (10 mph 90 degree)
The .204 will shoot flatter than a .22/250.....................and don't forget you have the option of using 45 grain soft points.
I would pick the .204 over the .22/250 - I think you will get more barrel life out of a .204. Look at the chart below - you will see the .204 is a fine 400 yard 'yote rifle (energy wise).
Just my $.02
Here's what the Factory Hornady 45 grain soft point looks like ballistically (10 mph cross breeze):
Range Velocity Impact Drop ToF Energy Drift
0 3625 -1.6 0 0 1313 0
25 3517 -0.71 0.13 0.02 1236 0.49

havent shot an yotes at that range as there isnt any in this country but I have shot foxes at over 300 yards with the 39g blitzking and it drops them dead no problem.
