I noticed that one of your hunting partners had a rem. 700 thumbhole .204. I have the same rifle and I LOVE mine, it shoots fandiddletastic for a factory rifle. Just wondered how his performed.
I am going CRAZY waiting for some good weather for a long weekend to shoot up some sagys. We have been ready for about a month and the only good weather was easter, And we couldnt make it I am hoping next weekend.
I will miss the first few with itchy trigger finger its turned to a rash by now. Good shooting this season mabey will see you over in the the Oregon desert.

maj: CaptQC, Gary that is, loves his, and boy does that puppy shoot! After barrel break-in and sight-in at the range, the first three shots in the field launched three sage rats! He was stoked to say the least.
If I was to buy another 204 any time soon (and I will), it WILL be one of these rifles . Sweet in every way, and it appears Remmy has their barrel issues laid to rest, as Gary's is smooth inside, and a real shooter. Love those vents on the forearm too, ditto for the new trigger.
Note the grin on Gary's face....go figure.
As long as we're talking about CaptQC, check out his cool "Alternate Close-In Weapon Mount" for those pesky rodents that sneak in just out of pistol range....easy to get at, and not harmful to a nice Winchester 94/22 Mag or Henery 17HMR:
Gary is the developer of the very cool "Wind-O-Matic" device, shown elsewhere. I love techno-guys with imagination!
Weather: Yeah, it's always an issue at this time of year. Nice during the week, then turns to crap just in time for the weekend. I think Skippy has some kind of blackmail on the 'Weather-Talkers'.....

Hey Rick-
Is it a safe bet that Garth hooked you guys up with those cool 100 Year Anniversary Leupold hats? Any chance you know where a guy could buy one? I stopped by their headquarters in Beaverton when I as out there last week and got a copy of the book that celebrates their 100 year anniversary - it's pretty interesting reading if you are a Leupold fan (I wish some of the owners of manufacturing companies back in Michigan would have read it a few years ago, maybe we wouldn't have the worst economy in the country if they did!). Didn't know they had the hats or I would have tried to pick up one of those as well.

Maj: I love my new Remmy!
Shoots like a house on fire
Hawkeye: Nope, on Tuesday night I'm in Bible Study (no really), anyway I wouldn't want to damage my bench by shooting the rifle from it's mount!

SW, it's by Shooters Ridge, model #40874. Cost less than $50 including the leather bag, nothing fancy but it works fine for me. The feet are Superfeet from Sinclair (also available from Rick's site at
http://www.Varmintmasters.net) for $20. Gary
