Fur friendly factory ammo

Post by Lyn »

I am not set up to reload yet so factory ammo is my only option. I am shooting the hornady 40 gr. v max in my cz. They shoot well but leave such huge holes in the hides. It seems the further the coyotes are the bigger hole it leaves. The thing I do like though is the one shot kills. I know it gets talked about a lot but I was wondering if any of you have had any luck with other factory ammo. Thanks.

How about them boise state bronco's?!!!!!!

Maybe the 32gr will not leave a hole since they have less weight to them.......... :?
Major accomplishments with my gun so far:
450yds crow, 410yds opossum, 450yds coyote, 150yds Grey squirrel head shot!
Best 3x group-touching @ 200yds
Deer killed: 11 and counting. From 8 to 220yds!

The most fur friendly factory fodder I've run across is either the 32 Vmax or the 34 winchester HP....out of these the 32's I did not like for larger varmints and the 34's were not accurate.... :o
Maybe you'll have diferent experiences......

Hope this helps...GW

Federal uses a 39 grain sierra that seems to work pretty good, but lots of guys like the Bergers. I think Cabelas sells factory Bergers.
