Weaver Grand Slam

I am thinking of putting a 6.5-20 Weaver Grand Slam on my CZ 204. I know what options Weaver offers in recticle choices but am not able to actually look through the scopes before purchase. Anyone care to give some advise on which option for varmints and occasional targets. I have a Weaver V4-16 with the fine crosshair an dot but it is really hard to see the dot or even the intersection of the crosshairs except for ideal conditions.

My personal choice is some version of a mil dot reticle. My 3 varmint rifles, 20VT, 204R, and 223, wear 3 different versions of Leupolds reticle design. My 204 is the Long Range Varmint Reticle. I had this scope customized by Leupold, for the 32gr Vmax bullet because, at the time, the 32's were about the only bullet readily available for the 204. When I started shooting the 39 SBK's, I found that my hold points were close enough to the same as when shooting the 32's, that I was still able to use this set-up, for ranges to beyond 300 yards. After around 375 yards things changed. But when shooting in windy conditions and at longer ranges, I try to only shoot the 39's. This set-up has helped me get kills out past 500 yards and farther. All kills were ranged with a laser range finder. I have complete trust with this set-up on my 204R.
Just my choice and 2 cents.

If you're thinking a Grand Slam, better act ASAP as Weaver (stupidly) is gonna quit making them. Always wanted one, but never got around to it, and am now sold on side focus. (I'd planned on a 6-20 GS on my CZ, but opted for a Bushnell 3200 7-21x only because the specs at the time claimed it to be shorter/more compact; big mistake: it wasn't and the glass isn't Grand Slam quality.)
Natchez has a good price on the Ballistic dot reticle - which should suit your needs; the Varmint dot should also if you don't need holdover points. Hope they aren't sold out. :x

Thanks for the suggestions. I had already noticed the price on Natchez and ordered the Ballistic reticle version. I should have it by Friday.
