Longest winter of my life

The never ending winter this year is starting to get annoying. Beautiful day today, bright sun shine, temp actually getting up to 17C. So I thought screw all the snow I'm going out. My range is still snowed in so I haven't developed a load for my 32gr Sierra's yet. So I grabbed a bunch of factory Hornady 32gr Vmax and headed out.
I had to walk a half mile to get to the pasture as the road was still snowed in. Got out to the pasture and was pleased to see the ground squirrels were as fed up with winter as I am.
The snow was so deep in places I wish I brought some snow shoes. I found a little hill where the snow had melted and waited for some gophers to pop up.
First customer of the day
I didn't bother bringing a camera, so I only had my phone.
This guy stuck his head up just far enough to see what was going on
Third customer
The picture doesn't capture the depth of field, but the snow was up to my waist walking between the two bare patches.
This guy lost his lunch
Same guy, rolled over
Where is the other half?
Oh there it is
Close up, just because. A good 30 feet from the top half.
This guy just came out of his hole
This guy got a 39gr Sierra
This guy got caught way out in the snow. Such a abstract pattern he created in the white snow.
It was worth the walk.
