What a great offer from RIO.
I seem to remember talk of a get together a year or two ago, glad to see it has been revitalized. My brother and I are most definitely in.
Flying lessons, sit and stay lessons, lay down, or whatever the rats will learn I am willing to help teach!

Being a bit more "local" I can do whatever is needed to haul supplies needed from north of the border..

I would most likely be up for a 2013 Rat Rodeo. Typically spring is one of our busy times but i may be able to get away. :D

Heck Brad, that should be a tax-deductable product R&D trip for you! There is no substitute for field testing ones' product.

I'm in. Not too far for me, now that I'm back in Oregon! :)

Hey Laser, wish I would have noticed you before. I just moved from Seattle/Tacoma after five years.

Not sure how I missed this.

Oregon would be a fun trip for us, and give me time to finish filling in my arsenal..lol

I believe on Indian land, an Oregon license isn't needed, is one needed for private ranches?

Count me in too! It would be well worth the trip from Vermont to meet some forum members and shoot some squirrels!

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but a hunting license is not required for small game in Oregon except in the case of certain furbearers.

I could be wrong, but I was on my way up to Bonnieville dam 2 summers ago to catch and release oversized Sturgeon, and I found a squirrel hunt on Indian land down near Chiliquin or chimult and they mentioned not needing a hunting license due to the reservation, but maybe it was for Coyotes?

RIO---if you are going to put on a hunt for the forum members, I would certainly try to make it. We are in the process of buying our dream house/land, but that should all be settled before 2013. I would do my best to make it out there.

An general Oregon Hunting License is required to shoot Skippy, The only way around it is something about vermin control on private land but I haven't checked into it enough to know the rules. Rick might have the answer to that one. Captqc

In Oregon, no license required to shoot varmints IF you are shooting on private land with the landowners permission.

Everyone: Don't get too excited about the possibility of ME putting on the forum Rat Rodeo.....the ranch I shoot may not be available, as the owners are going through a divorce, and we all know how those sort of events usually go........ I have no idea if my regular ranch would be available by spring 2013.

If anyone else has available rat-infested land, now is the time to speak up. If things change here, you guys will be the first to know.

I think there are some options, but it depends on how many people are serious about going. There is Cedarville in the Spring, but I would reccomend going before or after the Squirrel Roundup in March. There is a farm complex that allows shooting in Butte Valley just a few miles south of the CA/OR border. I have a ranch that I established a relationship with in the same area, but not sure how they feel about bringing in a couple dozen guys at once.
