I've never shot a 22-250 further than 200 yards at the local range. However, after this past week in eastern Oregon in the windy conditions I encountered I was just tickled as heck (Although Skippy wasn't amused one bit) as how good the 204 performed. Basically to make it a challenge, I had to limit the 204 to 350 yards and beyond otherwise it was like shooting fish in a barrel.

I may toy with the 32 grains and the 26 grain bullets just for grins but right now, for all of my 204's the 39SBK is a hammer. The 35 Berger shoots good but IMO, it has nothing over the 39 SBK (although I could be wrong).

For horsepower at 500 yards and beyond I have a 6mm Remington I can use. So far it shoots the 75 VMX, 87 VMAX and 105 AMAX bullets real good.

And with those listed here -

- the 204 blows the doors off the 22-250 when using the same weight bullets.

Who knows why Nosler loads (or claims) relatively warmed up loads for the 22-250 and way underloads the 204. Anything can be found in print somewhere it would seem. That's why I say you have to prove it to yourself. Try it and you'll know.

Must admit I although I expected the .204 to out-shine the .223, I didn't expect it to hold with the .22-250, yet in my experience it certainly does!

I have been shooting with Hotshot now for eight years and he is right this one time on this. He was the one that showed me the way of the .204  But ask him this one thing what modle of rifle does he shoot now and how did he come like it so much? ;)
