You will find the 32 and less will work the best. If you want to shoot heavier bullets then you are probably going to have to rebarrel with a 1/11 or faster twist.

Re: 26gn Varmint Grenades
thanks Bill I will revisit the 32gn, but will they drift more in the wind ? I have some Wiley foxes sitting out at 350yards I’m thinking if I aim at their eyes I should hit their chest? Or am I asking too much for this round?

Thanks Rick, you hitting coyotes with your 204 and what what gn u use? What is the extreme effective range and what kind of wind drift do you get ?
Rick in Oregon wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 11:17 am Rogman, Bill K is spot-on in regard to bullet weight and twist. You might as well forget shooting the 50gr bullets in your 12T rifle. It would be a most frustrating experience. Stick to the 39gr SBK and lighter, and you'll be both money and smiles ahead.
Sorry, but that's the truth unless you re-barrel to at least an 11 twist. Myself and others here have gone that route and have had complete success. PTG has my reamer on file that is considered a 204R Match chamber, similar to what TK designed, just with less freebore. Shoots in the high "ones" and low "two's". Good stuff and allows bullets to be seated at or near the lands.

Any bullet will drift in the wind, as you know. But you will be surprised how little more the 32 will compared to the 40.

Thanks Bill, will definitely spend some time with the .32's
Re: 26gn Varmint Grenades
Bill K,
I made the mistake of allowing for wind drift on a Bobcat one time. The shot was a bit over 225yds, the wind was around 10mpg going left to right. The Cat was sitting facing me so I held a bit left of center. At the shot the Bobcat disappeared and I thought darn, I should held more left than I did. When I got up to where the Cat had been, he was still there. The bullet flipped him over backwards and hit left of center. I was using a 37gr CRT bullet which it never exited the body.
