MidSouth's 34 grain Varmint Nightmare Bullet

Spent the past week in Ohio shooting my favorite varmints, groundhogs, with the MidSouth 34 grain Varmint Nightmare Bullet.

After spending considerable time last year working up a load for this bullet in the Encore this trip was to be the test for the bullets effectiveness on groundhogs. On small groundhogs I had exit wounds on all hits. Generally 1.25 to 1.5 inch hole on the far side of the groundhog. On larger groundhogs bullets did not exit, unless a shoulder was hit and then it was secondary fragments. Except for a twitching tail no groundhogs moved after hit with this bullet. I had no shots over 160 yards due to terrain in the hilly area I was hunting so I cannot comment on the long range effectiveness of the bullet. For eastern hunting on groundhogs it proved a good bullet that I will use again.

what load did you settle on? I have decent accuracy from mine with 28 grains of 4895.

27.9 of H4895, Winchester brass, Remington 7.5 primer.

almost the same load. I am using Win cases and Rem primers too.
