Big Horn Barney, I know you asked Rick, however, I can tell you where I got my charts. I have a ballistic program that will give me the MOA list with the print out. If you can's get them anywhere you can send me a pm and I will chart yours. I would need all the info on your round, BC, Velocity, weight, etc. The way the chart works, is you simply range the rodent, look at the chart and adjust the scope for the MOA at the new range. The scope would need to be zeroed at 100 yards initially. In my last shot the range was 462, I checked the chart and set the scope to 5 MOA. Put the cross hairs on him and Bang. Dead rodent. Pretty cool. I am new to the whole theory and I am sure Rick could give more detailed info but i ma a believer 8) I have always been a firm believer of never playing with scope settings after zero. Well I am not anymore. Works great. As Rick would say, "Dial a Rat". Range him, dial it in and Bang. If you have any questions about it more specific you can PM and I will give you what I have. I PM'd Rick several times when I was making mine. Good Luck

I wrote a better, more detailed description in an article in Varmint Hunter Magazine, #66, but this link gives a basic overview from an earlier post. I think I've described it elsewhere here on other occasions, so a search may turn up a better tutorial.

Once you're using the system, those long shots start to get routine, but you always need to pay attention to the wind. Here's one of mine to illustrate what we're discussing:

Those are very good groups. What powder has been the best?

Awesome shot! Glad to hear the 204 will dispatch a groundhog at that range... Nice looking rig there.. gotta have a drop chart at those ranges. I have one for all my rifles... they work great! Congrats & continued success!
Here is where I get my drop charts from... I really like these as they do the conversion in clicks... works as accurately as the info you input. :D

Sam, I chekced the chart you posted. Gives the same info as my program, with the same info inputted of course. Thanks for the tip. I have, on occasion switched rounds when I was away and away from my computer. Now I have options. Nice!
