Ah yes, sunshine, moderate wind, a flat-shooting accurate 204, friends, and a field full of squirrels.......does it get any better? About the most fun you can have with your clothes on!

Glad you guys had a good trip to share. The "wire hanger" is priceless! Have you guys ever played "Rat in the Bucket?"

In the past, we've taken an empty plastic 5 gallon hydraulic oil bucket, and put it out in the middle of a high rat concentrated area about 200 - 250 yards from the shooters. Everybody there chips in $10 for a pool, and the first guy to launch a rat into the bucket wins the pot. It adds fun to something that is already big fun, and makes it even better. If no one lands one IN the bucket, a "hanger" counts.....your hanger is what reminded me of this little game.

Anyway, looks like a great time, post more photos if you want. We head over again in two weeks....I'm told by our rancher that they are thick again. Hooo-Raahhhh!

Rick That is a great game i am going to try that one. And yes you need to go the babys were out thick. And my best freinds son had some lenghty separations one was in 3 peices the 2 halfs were 32' apart with another peice of skinand fur for a total of 45'. Then he had another of 3/4 of the rat and 1/4 of the rat 55' apart, both with a 22-250. I had my personal best of 450 yards this trip also Its not much but it was my best. Heres some more pictures but be aware these are a little grafic. We did discover the best explosions were when the rat is full on facing you or the butt full on facing you they really launch then.

And Rick i have used the "Funnest thing you can do with your cloths on" Analogy many times my self.
I posted a thread on optics about the night force vs leupold well my freind bought both and sent both back in favor of the trusty old bushnell 4200 elite 1/4 target dot that we have owned from the beginning. I my be crazy but i like it the best all thing considered. The Night force was the clearest by far but it had a poor feild of view. The leupold had a great retical but the eye relief was very poor and you had to be so perfect in the scope or everything went black. So in short i think i will save my money and keep my 4200 elite. I guess that was not short.
