I'm looking for a new scope and would like some of your suggestions. I'd like to get a Ranging model similar to the Shephard system. I have a Shephard P1a but is just not the right one for varmint hunting.
Anyone using a good range finding scope?

Re: Looking for a Scope
Tough...when dealing with a bruin the size of a prairie dog.
I HIGHLY recommend the Nikko Stirling 6-24x56 nighteater ($170 at cheaper than dirt). FULLY multi coated lenses, mildot reticle, 30 mm tube, extended mildots, and side focus know (wheel is NOT needed...imho).
This is the best scope for the money. I would actually put it up against scopes in the 5/600 range.
I "rangefind" with the mildots. I know how large a prairie dog is...so...if it touches two mildots...it is REALLY close!
