Just got back from Wyoming and we spent a couple hours popping dogs. They've been shot at before so the only one's that sat for us were from 300-450 yards. Most mine came at 350 yards with a 15 mph crosswind.
Were you using 32 or 40 grainers? So far I've noticed the 40's doing a better job of seperating a p-dog of it's various parts (depending on where hit), while the 32's simply expand big time and leave large openings.
Bergcrane2,
Nice shooting, 350yrds with 15 MPH crosswind! Sounds like more than a mouse fart of wind to me . I was on another site and some clown made a fool comment about the .204 and "the slightest crosswind" I commented that he must have never shot the .204 and shouldn't make stupid comments. Thanks for validating what the .204 is capable of doing

I held about an inch to the side from the top of his head, and most every shot was a hit. Some better than others. I never even really had to walk shots into a hit until I got out to 400 yards. Even then, wind wasn't much of an issue, the bullet drop was.
Bergcrane2: Nice shooting there. Charles Petty should take note......AGAIN.
(In reference to his totally uninformed, stupid comments in a newsstand rag about "a mouse fart would blow a 204 off course when shooting PD's", or something to that effect).

How are you liking your VSSF II? I just recently bought one - going to take it out tomorrow to get it sighted in.
I love it. It took a while to get the barrel broke in though. My groups were huge at first but after 80-100 rounds through it, it settled in nicely. I'm getting low .3" 's consistantly.
