Weekend Trip

Post by majcl5 »

We just got back from SE Oregon hunting Sage Rats. It was pretty hot weather, the alpha was pretty high ,we did find a grass field that was recently cut andhad some rats in it. And we got into some rabbits in the morning and evenings My buddy got a rabbit at 638 yards ,the farthest rat was 421 yards and we discovered how cool a digital video camera was. If i can figure out how to do it i will post the videos they are pretty cool. Heres some pictuers from our trip.

maj: Glad you were able to get out, and the weather cooled down a tad for you guys, and you found fields that were not too long of crop. Looks like the bunnies paid the price!

Good thing you went this last weekend, and not the weekend before, when the temperature over there was over 100 degrees!

One of the guys property we hunt on just sold this year and we got acquainted with the the new owners and we were able to hunt on sunday and had decent results not crazy good but for the weather it was great being so hot and all. And most important his feild was not high we were able to see the little fellas.

Jason we had 2 .204 s and one 22-250 on this trip all three guns using the 40 grain v-max.

Verminator 2 We were just out of Crane down from the store Mike ks property and John next door Johns place is just plumb full of those Rats.

I am telling you guys the .204 ruger launchs those babys just as good as the 22-250 going almost 500 fps faster.

Yeah, that's where I figured you were. The .204 does launch them higher  Hey, next time you're down there look up Todd Titus. He is just down the road a mile on rodeo lane.

Yeah, at least I think so. He just wants them killed, so I send people over there. The problem is getting there when other people aren't shooting. He also has badgers, but it is hard to find them out in the day. Just be careful to follow instructions, cause he has had other people not and they got booted and ruined it for other people.

Yea we had a good time , we also had some great video footage . That was the first time we had the video camera and we made some umbrella's for our benches so it was a profitable trip even without great sage rat action. The videos and umbrella's was like a new toy for x-mas. Heres a picture of our bench add-on
