Fox & 35 grain Berger

Wanted to share some photos of a red fox I harvested on the final day of Wisconsin's season. I hadn't seen anyone post info on the performance of the 35g Berger on fox.

Looks like a pretty clean kill.

Exit wound becoming clearer.

Exit wound.

Damage exposed while case skinning.

Could you give more info?

Where was the entrance? Range? Velocity?
I'm also unclear if that hole was only exposed under the skin or did it poke that hole in the hide as well?

Entrance was front-upper chest.
Range was 130 yards.
Not sure of my velocity, I have not chronographed this load.
The load is 28 grains of H4895 and a 35 grain Berger HP.
The exit wound wasn't too bad. But as I skinned him out the internal damage became apparent.

So that 35 went all the way through him lengthwise?

Not good news for broadside fox shots then I guess...

I think the 204 is really too much for fox if you are going to save the pelt. Maybe the 32gr'ers loaded down would go in and not come out but not sure.
