Just wondering how many people are loading with this powder and what kind of results should I expect?

Ricky bobby I haven't tried 2460 but bought a pound of 2230 a couple weeks ago and so far I can't get it to bring my 40 gr Berger's under 3/4 inch @ 100. I think the 2230 is a tad faster than what your running. My gun seems to like the slower stuff so far varget and h4895 but I've had problems withthe bore getting nasty after just a few shots so tried a faster burning powder. Good luck and keep me posted I'm curious as to how it does

I have great luck with Ramshot Xterminator, but need to try using up some AA2460.

What bullet are you shooting with the exterminator? I thought I had read that it and 2230 were basically the same powder. I was hoping it would do better because it defiantly burnt cleaner in my gun

I'm shooting the 40 gr Berger bullets.

The Xterminator burns really clean & meters well through my powder dispenser.

Just read a short artical in the Successful Hunter(NRA) Jan/Feb issue where Accurate Powder is doing testing and coming out with loads, boosting pressure and making the 223 Rem cartridge better. The two powders they are using are 2460 and 2520. You might try to read that artical and obtain some info, or email Accurate Powder for more info and load data. Bill K

I'm shooting a Remington SPS Varmint with a B & C Medalist fully adjustable stock installed. The stock made a big difference in accuracy, but the total weight of this rifle is probably more than most would care for. Especially with the 26" varmint barrel. Personally, I love it! :yeah:

I load the 40gr Bergers with 26grs of the Ramshot Xterminator. A lot of guys prefer the 35gr Bergers, but I tried the 40's first & my rifle liked them so I see no need to change. I hunt coyotes & think the 40's might give me less chance of runners, anyway. Haven't had a runner since I started shooting the Bergers, either!

Give the Xterminator another try. Maybe your COAL should be adjusted. It might make all the difference in the world.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply. 26.0 was my most accurate load with the powder but was only at 3/4 of an inch tried playing with the Col a little started at 2.250 and ran it out to 2.270 but the groups spread the longer I went, I guess thats proof that every gun is different. I'm glad to hear that the 40 gr Berbers are doing good on coyotes for you that was my main purpose for the gun wanted something to take out a coyote but not tear up a bobcat if I get a shot at one.
