i am trying to find the highest load i can get, thing is i am up to 25.9 grs of re10x with rem7.1/2 primers and there is no pressure sign at all, i only have an 18" barrel but QL is predicting 3739 fps thats with a 32gr sbk, but is show 59027psi which is over the limit..
i think i am going to chrono this load first, and then just keep upping .1 gr at a time till i see some pressure..
after that i will try to find an accurate load....

My books show 25.8 as max. w/32 grain and 23.6 with 40 grain. So I would go really slow and easy. Maybe your short barrel is allowing it to climb, but I would be watchful and careful. You could hit the breaking point and be sorry. I still go for accuracy more than I do speed. Bill K

i understand about the pressure side of things.
my 39gr sbk with 26.2gr of h335 is ok but, shows pressure if i go to 26.5grs it crators then, at about 27.0 it goes flat and 27.5 i blew a hole in the primer.
i dont want to go that far but i can not understand why this has not shown any pressure at all so far?

remember that it was a lot colder last month. i would pay attention to the temps too.

I was just shooting today and showed pressure signs at 25 gr of 10x. I think it just depends on the gun.

yep i agree it depends on the gun.
I like to see the first signs of pressure then i back off .2 grains and class that as my max load, then i drop down to my start load and try and fine the sweet spot, between the too loads......
it is just bothering me at the min as this load has shown no pressure, i am going to chrono it first and see if its matching my QL data before i go any higher.
and if i do go higher i think i will drop the gun in a vice and pull the trigger with some string :)

I use 25.5g of re10x under a 35g Berger with great results, went up to 25.7g with no pressure signs and I'm on the 4th reload in several cases.

have you ever put that load through a chrono?
