Hi guys, I have a stoney point bore guide that I have had for years and it works great on all my other rifles, 700, Savage etc but it won't fit my 527. Just curious as to what bore guide fits the 527 action the best.

No. 1 Choice: Lucas.

No. 2 Choice: Sinclair w/solvent port.

Thanks Rick! Which Sinclair, the o-ring or cone shaped model?

Call Sinclair, talk to one of their knowledgeable guys to get the correct guide. I'm thinking the o-ring model with the integral solvent port. These guides are propriatory for each action, and fit the action/chamber perfectly....well worth the price of admission.

You'll also get their excellent catalog in the mail with many tech tips you won't find anywhere else, plus much vey cool stuff for shooters you didn't even know you needed. ;)

When you get it, pull the o-ring off, take it to the hardware store, get it measured and buy some spares. The solvent works on them over time. Also, make sure the ones you buy will actually allow the bore guide to fit properly otherwise you'll have cleaning solvent all in your chamber.

Thanks JW. Yeh I didn't order any spare o-rings and I see they offer them. I'll see if I can pick some up at the hardware store.

I priced the Lucas guides for my rifles. WOW! I shoot a 17MachIV, 204,222,22-250 and 243. For the inserts I would need and bore guides was $181.00 for all my rifles. No doubt a quality product but I gotta pass on that.
