50 gr Berger and XBR 8208

Wondering if anyone has yet been able to try the 50 gr Berger and the (relatively) new XBR 8208 powder combination for their .204. Just starting to try this combo (in a 1 in 10 twist) and I'm curious about velocities. The suggested range from Hodgdon is pretty narrow, starting at 23.0 and maxing out at 24.9.

I haven't gone above the 39gr SBK, in a 1:12 twist.Work up a load.I think you'll like it.

I'd be interested in this! I have a TC in .204 with 1:10 twist. We have been using .22 Hornets to cull some herds and I'd love to be able to use the 50 or 55gr. bullets.

The 45 gr SP has worked very well. The average doe size is about 90 pounds. Never had to shoot twice.

Joe O what part of Upstate are you? I hunt up around Caesars Head from time to time. First coyote I ever killed was up in Jones Gap.

I'm already shooting the 50 gr Berger with H4895, so you should have no trouble with it. And the XBR 8208 powder holds even greater promise.

Tried the two loads with XBR 8208 and the 50 gr Berger yesterday. A load of 24.4 gr proved considerably superior accuracy wise to the max listed load of 24.9 gr. Didn't get an opportunity to chrony either of them, but will post some pics of groups and chrony results too if I get an opportunity later.
