I've read numerous threads and have seen people talk about weight sorting there brass and i can't wrap my noggin around why! But there must be a good reason too do this!

Can someone enlighten me?

Boomer84. By weight sorting before doing any brass prep. Sorting brass by a 1/2 grain. Should be the most accurate for internal volume. This just one step in more accurate hand loads.

Yes, sorting by weight will separate cases in to groups with matching volume. This results in even pressure, velocity and, hopefully, consistent point of impact. I would, however, weigh them after you have done whatever case prep you are going to do.
