Hi all!
I've just recently purchased a 204 and i'm haveing a few problems getting hold of various bits and bobs for it from my local gunshops here in the uk. The main one i'm stuck for is knowing which case trimmer to go for and what pilots and whatever else would be needed for the trimmer. With all my other rifles I use the Lee case length gauge and cutter but you will all know that Lee do not produce one for the 204. Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers! Stephen :wall:

I know the situation, so I ordered another one for .243. My brother-in-law is a machinist and I'm going to see if he can turn that length gauge down to about .199"/.200" on a lathe. This will allow it to go down into the cutter below the blades and if it "locks in" and is repeatable at the bottom this way, I'll have him trim the overall gauge length from the end of the pin to the cutter blades to somewhere in the 1.845" to 1.850"range. Most of the small case heads are the same and as is the .380 auto that I have.

Another, possible option would be to contact RCBS and see if they have or would make a file trim die for the 204 Ruger case. Bill K :)

You can use the possum hollow kwick case trimmer.
the model to get is the one that is listed for 17. 222. and 223 cases.
midway uk and reloading solutions both sell them.

Don't know about Lee trimmers, but most of the other trimmer manufacturers make a pilot for the 20 caliber cases. I had one for my Lyman trimmer, and when I upgrades to the RCBS power trimmer, I bought a 20 cal. Pro 3 way cutter. This thing is the only way to go. When set up properly, it trims to length, and chamfers inside and outside of the brass.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I think i'll be going for the RCBS that was mentioned as i like the sound of it chamfering the case aswell.
Cheers! Stephen
