IMR 8208 initial impressions

Slow in the 204 and fast in the 22-250.

Accuracy in the 204 is very good, BUT it will take over 1.5gr additional 8208 to match the velocity of my 39SBK Re10x pet load which is just across 3800fps.

I did not run the complete gamut to see if it can outshhot my 10x load, but my 10x load is plenty adequate accuracy wise for me putting 5 under a dime over and over even on a fresh clean barrel. Now if I could get the '250 to shoot like that...

I agree with the R10X and 39SBK's. It seems to be a winning combo. I've just started using the 2 together and so far am very pleased with the results

27 grains of 8208 with 39 sbk's is as accurate and as fast as R10X in my 204's. Burns cleaner and primers look like lower pressure for sure. Give it a good hard look guys, you're looking at the future.

I have yet to try this powder myself, but I can say that my varmint partner now feels that this powder is the best thing since sliced bread. This fellow has been loading for a great many years.FS

Myself, have had little success with this powder. Appears to show good velocity but accuracy in my remington is average at best. Sticking with 10X and Benchmark!

Loaded ten rounds, 0.1 gr difference per round, for one of my 223 AI's. Will hopefully shoot these over the chronograph in the next couple of days and report back.

Also loaded Benchmark and H4895....which seem to be THE powders for the 223 AI's.
