Had a chance to run this combo through the gun today and boy was I impressed! 2 out of 7 groups into the low 3's....very impressed! Question though, I had never run coated bullets through my remington before and these moly coated bergers must do a bang up job of holding back pressure. The highest I had gone with the 39 grain BK was 25.6 grains and the gun was shooting great but the signs of pressure were there. Today I was up to 25.8 with ZERO signs of pressure. I think my next trip out I am going to move up again 2/10 grain at a time to see if I can find the limit for my gun. ANy advise on the use of coated bullets in 20 cal? Thanks all!

Some generic advice
Haven't used moly in years and not much of it, mainly WS2 and now HBN. Never used much 10X either. Back in the old days 10X burned like coal due to a copper fouling prohibitor additive or sumptin like that. In other words they made it burn so dirty the bullet never had the chance of contacting the bore and leaving copper deposits
Somewhere along the line they supposedly cleaned it up some.
So generically I'd recommend going up in .1gn increments. 10X is a fairly fast burn rate so pressures should ramp up rather quickly.
3 or 4 shot groups just to see and conserve $$? An Audette ladder would be good too.
Always been my opinion. Give me accuracy over BC, I'll worry about the wind later
Not sayin the 39 is inaccurate. Just always had a little better accuracy and quality control with Bergs.
The Bergs won't splat a P-Dog as well as a 39. Should anchor a Yote as good if not better than the 39 tho.
I just kill paper so that last is just what I "think" I've learned about huntin with the 204.
Are you running over a chrono?
Good luck Have fun Be safe

Thanks jo, after reviewing my notes this morning, I have come to the same conclusion. WIll go up a tenth of a grain and see where the limit in my gun is. I am very impressed with these 40 grain bergers. Baught them last november been sitting on them all winter and I see it was worth the wait!

The 40 grain Bergers are awesome, I load them with the "NEW" RL-10X using 25.1gr. and 7 1/2BR primers WW prepped cases and my "T/C Encore" (walk-about gun) will consistently group .75" at 200 yards with that load.

Had 2 of the eight loads tested yesterday go into the low 3's, very impressed! How is the "splat factor" of these bullets?

Not sure on small game I Know on Coyotes this winter I was getting good penetration with no exits 95% of the time and even few times it did it was a small hole. I have been very happy with the 35gr but my CZ just loves the 40`s and now I do to I was getting few to many splashes with the 35gr so glad this one is shooting as good as it is. I load mine with 25gr of benchmark and it is deadly.
