Shooting Stool

Post by Paul »

I did not know which forum to put this in so it is here.

I'm wanting to purchase a stool to take to the firing range. Any of you guys have and suggestions to what and where to purchase a good stool to carry around.

Just go down to the local high school and talk the baseball coach out of an empty padded-lid ball bucket. Holds a lot of goodies, like a spotter, bags, rest, and rangefinder. Real functional. And cheap.......

I use a camo 5 gallon bucket (was bought for fall goose hunting) it has a camo swivel lid. The bucket also comes in handy to bring ammo, targets, hats, ear plugs and binoculars etc. to the shooting bench. Looks like a lot of thought went into that bench and its accessories.

giterdone I was just going to add this one here, as these can be had for about $15.99 at most Sporting Goods Stores.

The swivel seat is nice, but not needed at a bench. The 7 gallon baseball bucket is taller than the 5 (by 3-5 inches), and a more comfortable sitting height for most bench shooters. Save the 15.99.......

Paul, if your firing range is a PD town away from roads, and you don't want to carry around a bulky stool and bench, build yourself a 1 legged milk stool. Lite, small, easy to pack around, and surprisingly stable with a good set of shooting stix....
