The weather finnaly broke and I got to shoot some of my loads. Here are the results. I have a CZ 527 American with a Bushnell Banner 3-12 scope on it shooting off a Harris bipod at 100 yards in very windy/gusty conditions. I use two calculations: the spread - which is the farthest distance between shots (center mass of holes) and Avg - which is the avg distance from the theorectical center of the group. These were averages of three shot groups.
Powder Charge Bullet Spread Avg
Varget 27 gr 34 GR Dogtown HP .35 .23 (2 holes were touching)
Varget 26.5 34 Gr Dogtown HP 1.18 .43 (2 holes were touching)
Varget 27.5 34 Gr Dogtown HP .84 .47
Varget 28 34 Gr Dogtown HP .81 .54
Varget 26 34 Gr Dogtown HP 1.24 .86 (1st shots with clean barrel)
H4895 25 40 Gr Hornady Vmax 1.53 1.15
Varget 26 40 Gr Hornady Vmax 1.6 1.25
AA2520 27 40 Gr Hornady Vmax 2.06 1.55
I was very impressed with the Dogtown bullets, especially with how cheap they were. My gun seemed to like them better than the Vmaxes, which I wasn't unhappy with. I have used these Vmax loads since last fall, but now I will switch to the Dogtowns!
