Does anyone use primer sealer? I was told before that nail polish works just as well but I have also been told it is not needed at all. Just curious what the consensus is?

I have used nail polish to seal the primers on my hunting loads that I use for deer and elk for may years. I put it on with the brush that comes with it and then wipe my finger across the bottom of the case to smooth it out an get the excess off. I started doing this after I missed a bear one year using bullets that I had used the prior year during a rainy deer hunt. Two shells miss fired and when I took them apart, the primers looked like they were corroded. No problems since then.

Darren: Unless you plan to shoot your woodchucks in the rain, no need for primer sealing (PD's and squirrels won't come out in it). The military all use sealed ammo, most factory stuff is sealed, but it is all for the "worst case" in hunting or military ops. Not too many guys go out with a varmint rifle in the rain.....
As
Over-The-Hill mentioned though, it's easy enough to seal your hunting ammo with girlie nail polish should you feel the need, and the lacquer in nail polish about duplicates the stuff used by the factories (plus you get your choice of colors!

Thanks folks, I probably should have mentioned this was not for my 204. This was for my 30-06. Thanks for the info.
