Welcome to the forum longbow.

I once had a pretty darn accurate load with 40 Bergs and 25.3 gns of BM. Col of 2.270. It could be tuned for differnet primers but Fed 205's worked best.
BM is a slightly fast powder for the 40's. The node of 25.3 was very small. Small enough in fact I almost overlooked it in shooting an Audette ladder.

I did a lot of tweaking on that load and everytime I changed COL or primers I re shot an Audette at 200yds.
It always appeared as two shots touching or in one hole with .3 gns increments. A very small node but accurate.

One day it just stopped shooting. I think that was my first clue the tube was going south. It shoots the 35's now OK but not the 40's.

Does your gun like the 40's or are you just trying to find out?

Unless you want to try an Audette ladder I would suggest you start at 25.0 and go up in .1 gn increments.
Let us know what you find.

Thanks for the reply,I'm just trying to see if the gun likes the 40's or not. I got a really good deal at a gun shop that was closing out on a couple of boxes. It shoots the 35 grn VERY well. So I guess I'm just playing. Thanks -1Longbow
