Dogtowns again

I know everyone is probably sick of hearing about Dogtowns so this will be it unless I get another powder. I snoosed up my load a little and the Dogtowns didn't like it. The groups opened up to a little over an inch at 100 yds :( When I moved over to the 200 yd range I only had 3 dogtowns left so I gave them a try there. Grouped about the same at 200 as 100. That part was alright. I'm not totally happy with H322 in my rifle. Gonna have to get some more IMR4895 or give Benchmark a try. My barrel probably could use a good copper cleaning too. Anyhow here's Dogtowns at 200 yds today. Dave

I took a few Dogtowns, loaded with a semi-stout load of Benchmark, to the prairie dog patch this summer, they shot better on PDogs than paper, for me, anyway  In any event, they worked pretty well out to 300 yards, with the same POI as the 32s I was mostly using. THAT did surprise me, the same POI thing, but I wasn't about to complain.

Try Benchmark, starting about 26.7gr. and work up slowly, see what your rifle will do with it. It might just be an excellent economical alternative to the poly-tipped slugs. I know I'll be using them more often now. I was using 205M primers, for the record, they seem to mesh well with Benchmark powder.
