204 case trimming

I am currently trimming my 243 cases using the Lee case length gauge and a manual trimmer. The problem is that Lee does not make a case length gauge for their manual trimmer below a .22 caliber. I need to know what you guys suggest for the 204. I am probably going to have to spend the money and get a trimmer and be done with it, but if I could get away with modifying a different caliber length gauge that would be great. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Lee

Check http://www.kinneman.com and check out the "possum hollow" trimmer. Buy the adapter to use in a drill. Works VERY well.

Indexes off of the shoulder of the case.

Call Dan and ask for the power adapter.

You can special order one from Lee for $20 if you call them or what I'm thinking of doing is grinding down another caliber and then carefully filing to an OAL of 1.840"

I contacted Lee, they wont make one for the .204

So I got a 222 Rem mag one and polished it down to fit, its ok but I check every case anyway.

rogern: You may want to consider investing in an inexpensive dial caliper, that way you'll be able to measure all sorts of reloading oriented items instead of only one case length. Don't know about over in the UK, but you can get one here made by Lyman, RCBS, Dillon, etc., for around US$10.00. Just something to consider. I know from experience that you'll find many other uses for it, I promise. :D

Go to Sinclair's or midway and get the Wilson trimmer. I had the same problem. I use the Lee hand trimmer for everything. But had to get the Wilson for my 204. It is really a great trimmer.

Not sure why Lee said they won't make you a 204 case length gage cuz the lady I spoke to said they would. Anyway, I'm sure anything from Wilson is top notch. I'm just trying to save 20 bucks on the lee and see what I can't come up with. Wish me luck, or it will be a $5 loss lol.
