I am working up a load for a Ruger M77 hawkeye 20 inch barrel (Shortend and crowned). Does any one have a pet load for the 45 gr. Hornady spire point yet?
Or a pet coyote load for this setup regardless of bullet wieght. I would like to stick with something that will not shatter on bone as bad as the varmint bullets.
20 inch M77 hawkeye load.

Re: 20 inch M77 hawkeye load.
DK: You may want to try working up a load with the Berger 35 grainer, as most guys using the 204 for dogs have had excellent results, both in good, quick kills, and minimal pelt damage.
The Berger 35 is also a very accurate bullet out of a .204, and if your rifle has a 12 twist, it may shoot better too.
