Got the Carbon out since I found a Nylon brush. NYLON brush yields VASTLY different results. Wet patch following the brush comes out clean. I don't know what the black stuff is following a phosphor bronze brush, but Remington and someone here too thought I was having this problem.

I almost changed a barrel because of this same phenomenon.

On the bright side you probably have the cleanest rifle barrel in the world. :)
Thats an accomplishment of sorts.
NOW GO GET IT DIRTY!!! :lol: :lol:

You're right. I did get it clean. But not without MAJOR, MAJOR ELBOW WORK!
