Benchmark grain size vs Varget

I'm just getting ready to start loading for my new .204 and trying to decide which powders to order. I've used Varget in my 22-250 and .223's but it doesn't meter well in my powder measure, which gets to be a pain when loading a few hundred rounds at a time. A lot of people here seem to really like Benchmark performance wise, but I'm wondering if I will have problems with it in my measure. How is its grain size compared to Varget?

The Benchmark is definitely finer.....and much easier to meter! Also, W748 is a ball type powder and easy to work with. Although some have reported success with the Varget in the .204, I think overall Benchrest has seemed to be superior. I've gotten great results with Varget using the Hornady 45gr SP bullet. Good luck.

It depends one the rifle, the bullets and the shooter. I like both of them.

I like the ball powders for ease of loading and have been using Ram Shots Xterminator. I've used the W748 in other calibers and like it also but haven't used it for the 204.
