Anybody got a sweetheart of a load for the Midway Dogtowns? Have 492 of these bullets digging a hole in my reloading bench.

I shot 8 in a ladder test with CCI Magnum primers under 27.4 to 28.1 of H4895 - looks very promising!

Lemme go look through my loads. Seems like my XR-100 really liked 27.7 of H4895 and BR4 primers.

Benchmark has possibilities with the 34s in my rifle, probably your rifle, too :D I haven't had time to mess around with them yet, just a couple of groups with 26.6 gr. It was under an inch, barely, but I wasn't really warmed up yet, either. That's my story, etc, etc.
I'm gonna try some 2230-C next time out, and maybe some with DP #68, too, and see about refining the Benchmark. I just don't have enough time :( :( to get much done. Been stove up with a bum knee for two weeks, weather good, knee badddddddddd.

all i have tried with the 34 DT was 26.6 of benchmark .75" @ 3770 with my cooper and 1 1/2" @ 3619 with rem 700 both with cci 450 i tried because its one my best with 35 bergers .211 @ 3868 fps in the cooper w 26" bbl and .587 @ 3720 with a 24 " bbl on the remi. edited for velocity on the DT also noticed these ran slower than the 35 bergers

My load was
34 gr. Dogtown HP .204"
29.3 gr. of WW748
BR-4 primer
WW cases 5 times fired

Just a point I observed. They must have the worst BC of any 20 cal bullet, definitely the worst I have tried. I used up my last of them this last weekend and I will never use them again. For a couple bucks more I will stick with Vmaxs and BKs that handle the ballistics much better. Cheap ineffective bullets can ruin a trip. Luckily I only had a 100 or so with me but if I would have relied on them exclusively I would not have been happy. They will reduce a 400 yd. rifle to 250 yd. rifle ........JMHO

I just tried some CMR100 powder I bought from Jeff Bartlett a few years ago, 8 lbs and it shot well with that load and Dogtown bullets, the powder is no longer available. Here is a group I shot at 100 yrds while breaking in my L-W barrel.
