Getting close

Post by Blacklab »

Was able to get out and hit the rang. First couple times out had some issues w/ accuracy and stove pipeing. So I dismantled the upper and realized the gas block wasn't flush with the port. Readjusted and it functions great. So far it likes the factory 32 v max. Pulled out a few of my handloaded 40 v max. Needs some more testing had about a 4 inch spread @ 100 yds. Then tried 32 v max hand loads they tighten up to about an inch. COAL was 2.250 cci 450 with 30.9 cfe. Hopefully couple more trips and I'll have it dialed. I didn't chorny any or take pics since they weren't that great. Next time I'll at least chrony........lol

Some 204's with a 1-12 twist don't shoot the 40's. The 26-39 grain bullets are your best bet for 99.99% of the 1-12's
Elevation
Twist
Speed
length of bullet

all affect stability.
