my favorite powders for 204 are blc(2) RL-15 and x-terminator in that order.right now I only reload for 204 but hope to ,someday soon, have a 20 vt . Due to recent events I am stocking up on powder. Are any of these powders compatable with 20 vt or are there other powders that I could use for both . Thanks Dan

Dan, the most suitable powders for the 20VT are in the H4198/RL-7 burning range for using 32gr bullets. Some have had very good success using Lil Gun and 1680 with the lighter bullets. As you can see, none of these are ideally suited to the 204, but the 20VT also uses 30% of it. :D

Stock up if you can find it, now that the frenzy has begun.........

Check this out, alot of info on the 20VT and other 20's:

The only one I have found that works reasonably well in both is H335. I am 90% sure I am settling on H4198 for my 20 VT and RL-7 is a close second. My best groups were with H335 but with low velocity. CFE223 and H335 are my .204 loads.

I completely agree with Ricks powder recommendations. I have personally used H-4198 in my 20 VT and it also works well in the 20 practical, 20 Tac, and 204 Ruger. Thats what i call a versatile powder. I am also a huge fan of Ramshot Xterminator for the 204 Ruger, 20 prac, 20 tac, 20-222. However it just doesn't produce as much velocity in the 20 vt case, although accuracy is very good.

Yes, but if anything like the release of the .17 Hornet over here...... You'd have a long wait
