I use it. Yes it is pricey, but great software for assisting in load development.

QuickLoad isn't a logging software, it's an internal ballistic calculator. And a pretty sophisticated one.

TucoTom , I do load development by Optimum Barrel Time, which theorizes that you can mathematically calculate the times when the muzzle will be 'quietest,' which, for reasons of accuracy, would be the ideal time to release the bullet. The point is to get to an accurate load with the fewest number of test rounds fired. But you need QL for it's "barrel time" predictions and a chronograph to confirm them via MV. Now that I've got the knack of it, I'm always done with the charge weight bit in fewer than 20 rounds (sometimes fewer than 10) and off into tweaking seating depth (no formula to help with that [yet], unfortunately, because throat wear is a shifting sand).

QL also is useful for "auditioning" new bullets and powders, and considering the effect of fill ratio and changes in barrel length. It has one function that will give you the predicted charge weight (and fill ratio) nearest to the SAAMI Pmax for a given barrel time, so it lines up charge weight, Pmax and MV of every powder in its database (which is pretty much everything on the commercial market) in a single, sortable spreadsheet. Neat stuff for choosing the powder that's best suited to a given application.

Yeah, it's pricey but if you use it like I do, it eventually pays for itself because it saves on bullet components and trips to the range.

I might have to pick up this program next week.

Great load program. Lot of bullet/powder choices. Let you tune a load without burning out your barrel. Well worth the $$. If you like the handload.

Amazing looking @ this data how many Vihtavuori powders fall into the .204 spectrum....seems funny one powder maker would have so many powders in such close proximity?
