Case length

I usually use the Lee system for case trimming but as you know they don't make the tool for the .204 Ruger.
I purchased the Redding trim die w/ extended shell holder. Works great but does take longer....Amazes me that the steel in the die is hard enough to withstand filing.
Does anyone make a "Flash Hole Uniformer" for .20 caliber?? All I've seen only go down to .22 cal.

as Joe noted above our tool indexes off the bottom of the case. In addition our tool is made of stainless steel and designed to last a lifetime.
Here is a link to our website if you want to check it out: http://www.customreloadingtools.com/crt_013.htm

Another vote for the CRT tool, and all their tools for that matter. All CNC-made to tight tolerances, beautiful finish, and they're all very well designed to boot.

Whatever uniformer you decide upon, ensure it registers off the bottom of the case web, and NOT on the case mouth, as with those tools, any length variation will also vary the depth of the pocket cut = no uniform cuts, and cases with varying amounts of brass removal.

I use the Lee system, too. Solved the problem by purchasing a trimmer for a .22-250 and trimming the diameter and length using a drill press and some carbide grit paper. Works great.

Same for me. Worked quite well. But I recently bought a Forster trimmer so I'm hanging to try it out. Only problem is - none of my brass has stretched :D

Correct me if I am wrong. I believe the Sinclair 17/20 caliber tool indexes off the case mouth, while the 22 and up tool indexes off the case web. Unless they have updated the smaller tool, I'm pretty sure that is correct.

Jon, they now offer both types of uniformers.

I was in the same position and bought a case length gauge with the same 1.850" and had my brother-in-law turn it down in a lathe, I think it was the .222 Remington Magnum. I wound up getting an extra cutter and used Locktite to keep it in place once I was happy with the overall length. (The turned down shaft around .200" wants to go into the cutter a bit deeper).

I bought the tool recomended earlier and it is very nice.
The 204 Ruger is not an easy caliber to gear up for....I've spent a fortune with Sinclair.
