well picked up the tikka 204 today and hope to try a few at the weekend.gone with nosler brass as i got on well with it last time but have read to watch out for preasure using it so will start low.i want to use 26 grn barnes varmint grenades and any loads or info/experience would be very much appreciated.i have read barnes says use load data for 32 grn bullets.i'm sat on a few powders rl10x h322 and varget .looking to use 10x ideally.

glad to have a 204 in my grubby little mitts again

My Tikka likes them with 27.5 grs of H322 with winchester brass.

FWIW, my Cooper loves RL10X with 32, 35 and 39 grain bullets. Never have tried the 26's but, bet you will be able to make good use of that powder once you get the load dialed in.

thanks chaps if my memory serves me well i used 10x last time to good affect.getting very mixed reviews on those varmint grenades though,not expanding as well as expected.i did well to find some 10x the word on the streets is those greedy darn americans are buying everything :chin: ha ha .

I've been using 27 grains of vv n-530 with the 26's, at 4250fps there was no problem with expansion. Down to 3 lbs and if I see any more I'm buying all of it! Yes, I am a greedy and American.

They have always expanded well for me.

Love using the 26gr. VGs. Had 2 ground squirrels standing about 6" apart. Couldn't work out a way to line them up for a double. So I chose one to shoot. To my surprise both of them came apart! Talk about explosive!!
