i have a ruger 1A with a 22 inch barrel, and i am just now finishing up a remington 700 varmint/pss project with a 26 inch barrel. i have worked up a 40g VMAX load for the ruger that i shot in the remington also. it is averaging 3588 out of the ruger, and 3686 out of the remington. i am just in the initial stages of load development for the remington, and it seems to like the sierra 39 grainer, but at least that's some real world, apples-to-apples data for you!

Dang,I thought it would be more to a spread than that.I'm happy too see that I can get that kind of velocity with a short barrel.
