CFE223: Range Results & Photo

Post by Vartarg »

I took my Cooper M21 .204 to the range today with 25 rounds of .204 loaded with CFE223 & 39gr SBKs......

You can see the results on the attached photo.......

The string at 29.0gr of CFE223 was on the money, with the exception of the flyer to the right......

The barrel cleaned up nicely, with very, very little copper aftermath.....

Just FYI....

Thanks for the report. I have been wanting to see some actual info.

Nice shooting with the 39 BK'S. I just got some too but haven't been to the range to see if my gun likes them.

Thanks for the report. It supports my other observations.....Velocity is good and accuracy is average. I bet that Cooper shoots a lot of different loads into little tiny groups.

Zeus: yep.....the test target on mine indicated H335.

I've also tried it with my 6BR....again with average accuracy compared to H4895 and RL15.

Nice shooting, from the picture I would say that the group at 28.8 produced less vertical, but it is hard to measure from the picture. I did have a question about the CFE usage. Over at the Benchrest Central site there is a post about carbon ring buildup. On that site they say that the Hodgdon powers are some of the worst offenders. I was wondering if the CFE did a better job at not building a carbon ring buildup, or is it too soon to tell?

Thanks,

Ed
