Z-Max bullets

Post by Sidewinderwa »

Has anyone tried out the new Hornady Z-Max bullets yet? Graf & Sons has a decent price for 500, $61.99. I would like to try them but not sure I want 490 of them if they do not shoot well. I hear that they are supposed to perform better than the V-Max bullets.

I just recieved my backordered lot of 500 32 gn 20 cal yesterday, will be giving them a shot ( Pun Intended) on Monday. They are, I believe, the same bullet, just the Zombie thing and have a sick yellow tip.. So they should preform just like the Vmax, red tip.. We will see. BIll K

Please keep us posted. I need to load up a bunch of sage rat medicine soon. I see Mid South Shooting Supply has them much cheaper, at least for the 17 caliber.

What is really interesting, but nice. Is that the 34 grain Varmint Extreme HP's, with this same load shoot to the same POI and group just as good. Makes for good accuracy and hits on those pesky varmints or black dots. My little 20VT ( I call Pea Shooter) puts them right in there. Bill K

Sidewinder... A email to you did not go through. Checking to see if you recieved those items and how they worked, with your loads. Knowing the USPS, just want to see if you have them yet ? BIll K
