Finally got all the components to load for the 204R. I actually tested my loads in some Hornady brass from some factory loads I had fired. I picked up some new Winchester brass yesterday and prepped it all, with a few concerns, and loaded up the same load I had tried in the Hornady brass. So, these groups are in new unfired brass. My load is: 27.6grs of H4895
39gr Sierra Blitzking load to 2.330
Rem 7 1/2 primer
Loaded on a Dillon 550B with Lee collet dies.
Velocity avg was 3785fps
Nice....I don't think I would mess with it a bit.....Good job....May I ask you what rifle and barrel you are using....(twist and length) Thanks......Paul
What was the range on those Pred? I am about to start setting up my first loads also. I'm using Nosler 32GR BT with Nosler Brass and 26g of benchmark powder as a start. OAL with be 2.26. I am wondering how much I should jump the powder weight with each increase.
Sorry, should of mentioned it was CZ Varmint with the 25.6" barrel and a 12 twist. These groups were shot at 100yds. If you didn't notice, the one on the right was 6 shots. I started out at 27.0 grs and went up in .2 increments.
I also have just started to reload. This is how I did. I used two factory loads and two reloaded loads. I anyone has any info that could help I will take it and see how it works.

100 yards and right on 1/2 inch groups...? You have nothing to improve on....unless you are hunting house flies at 100 yards I do believe that you are well within the kill zone of just about any critter that you might encounter....Nice shooting........Paul
I get more excite about my .204 every day that spring comes along.
I wanted a Thompson so I could switch barrels around and came across a .204 conveniently. I had just gotten started reloading and came up with groups like this on a blustery day for first outing. I loaded both 32 grain and 40 v-max. The 32's made the dime sized groups and the 40's grouped at 1". I had signs of pressure on the 40's. I just loaded another batch of the 32's and 40's with the 40's reduce by 1grn to test and see if i can get the same result with 32's and better with 40's.
I cant get the picture to load right using image URL. The right side shows about the same
32grn Hornady v-max
29grn Accurate 2520
Winchester Case
Remington primer
Thomson Encore .204 "Do you know anyone with old rusted out military vehicles laying around going to scrap?"
mvpal: have you tried the 39 Sierra BK's? Lot's of guns that don't seem to like the 40gr Vmax's will shoot the the 39 SBK's into bug holes....just a thought.
