Help- stuck cases

Post by bugman70 »

I have a new AR-15 in .204 ruger. My reloads on new cases cycle fine as well as new factory loads but the cases that have been loaded a couple times will not chamber. They wont even go into the chamber . I am using RCBS dies and they are full length. Just wondering if there is a better choice of dies that will resize my cases back to spec.

No experience with AR, but if they've been full lengthed, and you're using an already tried seating depth, then perhaps it's your case length.
If you haven't already, trim them back to spec (max 1.85" - try 1.845")

I think i figured it out. I increased the depth of the sizing die a little and the last couple i loaded cycled fine. Thank You

Be sure and size them as complete as possible with the standard die. If they are still tight or will not fit purchase a set or at least a small diameter sizing die. Bill K
