RE 10X and 40 gr Berger BTHP
I'm getting some 40 gr Berger BTHP bullets today and want to try them with my current favorite powder Reloder 10X and IMR 8208XBR. Berger sent me load data for the R10X and it seems really low with the max load at only 22.9 gr. They did not send load info for the 8208XBR. Does anyone have any experience with either of these bullet powder combinations?

I have been up to 23.0 grains with the Bergers and,FWIW, up to 24.0 grains with 39 grain SBK's without any problems. Groups averaged .625" and .606" respectively. Varget just beat 10x out for accuracy in mine.

I have been shooting the Berger 40s for about 5 months . Just went with 10x about a month ago. Have been using 24.5 of 10X but the primer pockets are getting too loose and primers are too loose after 2-3 firings . Have to back down a little. I was using the Sierra load data on the attached link.http://www.204ruger.com/204_data_sierra.php
