Reloder series powder

Post by Bill K »

Have any of you tried the Reloder "Varmint" compared to the 10X ? The only place I find any loads with the Varmint is on the brand site, for the 204 that is. Having good success with Accurate powders, but would like to try one of these others. Thank you. Bill K :D

RL10X has been working so well for me that I have not strayed away from it.

I just loaded a Re- 10x ladder test batch, 22.5g to 25.5g under 35g Bergers, and I was surprised by how much unused powder capacity there was at 2.3" LOA. I'm looking forward to trying them over the weekend.

rl10x with the sbk 39 grainn was .30 for me @ 100 but rl 15x worked better with the 40 grain hornady. i had to slow them down a bit mind.

I just got to try RE-10x with Sierra 32 BKs. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. I actually two rounds keyhole on me... never had that happen before. That particular charge was right in the middle of Sierra's load data range. Nonetheless, I maintain hope for it and the 39 grainers. Of course, I'll also compare it with the other brands of 32 gr pills I have to see if it's the powder or the brand of bullet.

10 X for me and imr 4895! Both shoot extreamly well in 204 from 26 G VGrenades to 40G hornadys! I am soon going to start load testing on 40 and 50 G Bergers in a 1:10 Shilen Barrel! I alsohave excellent results with 34 G Midway dogtowns!

Well I have been working with 10X, various loads, along the suggestions from many of you. So far, with one exception, ever load and bullet tried has gone under one inch. So, long story short, I am liking it, but still have some good loads with both 8208 and AA2520. So I thank you fellows for guidence. Bill K Running a little slow, this am, due to party time, last night, at my 55th High school reunion.. Man am I getting OLD>

Bill 8208 xbr I presume? Is right next to 10x on my temp chart. I havent tried it personally, but would not be surprised to get similar results as with 10x.

I've been testing the Berger 35 gr. and experienced one keyhole loading with H4895, 27.3 to 27.6 grains. The keyholed bullet still impacted within the group and measured .503" for five rounds............figure that one out!
