RL17 with 40 grain bullets, anyone try?

Post by pockets »

Has anyone tried RL17 with 40 grain bullets, nosler BT and 39 BK? I am thinking of trying it in my T/C Precision Hunter, with Nosler brass.

I personally feel RL-17 is TOO slow burning for the 204. Had great results with reloader 15 and even better with RL-10X. Benchmark also an excellent option. My remington shoots 1 hole groups with benchmark and 39 grain sierra's.

I agree with Fireballguy.RL 17 is near H4350 in burn rate.Many powders give better performance.Those mentioned,and IMR 8208 XBR,Varget,Benchmark,etc

After trying many powders, i have settled on RL15. I can assure you that you won't have room in the case for enough rl17 mate.
