45gr Hornady SP test loads

Post by Glen »

I have no idea what the velocity is on these. The chrony hasn't been replaced yet. Each group was 4 shots. I like the middle load {25.5grs} the best. The hottest load had some bolt stiffness.

Looks they show promise, What rifle are you shooting ? Twist ? I'll try to post pics tomorrow of what I got. Played with coal a little tonight, hope to try again in the morning.

I have a 700ADL with a Richards MicroFit t-hole stock & a beavertail foreend. The stock added about 1 1/2"lbs to the rifle plus a ton of stability. I got this rifle the 1st summer the 204 was available & it was the 1st 204 rifle I found around here. I'm assuming it is a 12" twist. Never checked it to make sure. I also had the trigger reworked to get the gritty feeling out & dropped it to 2 1/2lbs. I'm gonna try the 25.5gr load again.
