Remington 7 1/2 Primers

Post by futuretrades »

I am currently using Winchester small rifle primers in 204 and 223. These are my primers of choice, but the availability is a real problem. I have found a store that has almost as many Rem 7 1/2 small rifle primers as I could use in 2 lifetimes. And the price is around 20.00 per thousand. My question is, are these primers used by any one loading the 204 Ruger? Will the cup thickness hold up to the pressures of the 204? If not, are they a good choice for the 223. I have already switched from win primers to rem primers in my 38, with the same results as i was getting with win primers.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

FutureTrades - believe this website info will answer many of your questions.

For me, if CCI 450's and 400's are not available, Rem 7.5's are the way to go.

At $20 per thousand.....um....well......I would buy as many as I had funds available....and I am not kidding.

You won't go wrong with Remingtom 7 1/2's. I'm hearing Wolf SR MAG primers are really good too. For the price you mentioned, I echo "acloco's" advice, get all that you can afford because they're twice that (and then some) just about everywhere else.

Thanks for the Input fellas.

I found them up in so oregon, so i won't even have to pay Kalifornia's sales tax! I am heading up that way on Thursday this week and will be picking a bunch up. Thanks for your input. I knew I could count on the fine members of this site!

Actually I was mistaken, The price on them is $23.95 Per 1000. The last time I was up there, I picked up 4000 Remington sml pistol primers for $21.95 per 1000.

Man I thought Kalifornia was bad on prices. What state do live in Cover Dog? !!!!
I could have bought win small pistol primers for 31.95/thou down at the RIP OFF place just an hour south of me, but I refuse to be ripped off and still have to pay The peoples republic of Kalifornias sales tax, which is 8.25%!
